Road Trip to Caleruega

Picture
Closer to nature, closer to God,
A weekend to a place like Caleruega,
Little bit rough road along the the way,
Every moment and view is worth to stay
Retreats, recollections, prayers, and time to God,
Upward grand staircase and brick steps everywhere,
E
legant chapel, KOI pond and hanging bridge so nice,

Garden, flowers and trees are worth to see,
All the sceneries makes our day worthy and happy.

“CLOSER TO NATURE CLOSER TO GOD”

Since January 23, 2012 was declared as  Special Holiday I had been thinking where to spend Sunday or Monday. I want somewhere that I never had been… Hmmm…. My choices were only day trip to Tagaytay / Caleruega, Palaisdaan at Bae Laguna, Villa Escudero…

My husband and I decided to go to Caleruega for a road trip. I’m so happy that  we can spend time together on  Holiday.

Since we’re from Carmona Cavite, we  took Carmona Exit to Greenfield Mamplasan, then to Sta Rosa going to  Tagaytay….

We arrived Tagaytay at around 10:00 AM, we decided to had stop over at Starbucks Tagaytay to wee-wee and to take a  short rest over a frappucino and iced mint tea…  The overlooking view of Taal Lake still fascinates us even we had seen it many times and we had been in the crater of Taal Lake.@  We had spent a short time reminiscing the time we had travelled to the crater 2  years ago.

We continue our road trip going to Caleruega, with a map photo on my phone as our guide. We saw the road going to Mendez, San Miguel Corp, Nasugbu Arch, Petron and the last land mark is the Everest Hotel and Restaurant. We turn right and see Don Bosco and then turn to right again. It’s 2 KM from the main road and its rough road but the view along the way is so  wonderful.

We parked the car near the transfiguration  chapel, unfortunately that’s only for the wedding guest. So we walked a bit far  to reach the entrance gate. We paid Php 30.00/head for entrance. They provided as a brochure about Caleruega.

When we enter we took our fist picture on the entrance of the office. The first thing we did was to buy a ref magnet as our souvenir and also took a picture on the amazing  stairway.

Since Allan and I really like to have picture we explore the place. Our first way is to go the chapel. What we really like are the  wallbricks, the stone houses, the garden and the place is so solemn. Of course it’s  intended for retreats… Hehehe!!!

When we reach the Transfiguration  Chapel, we seen that
there is a wedding preparation, we assume that the  wedding will be in the  afternoon. The chapel’s front door had curtains that time. The coordinators were preparing the flowers and the isle carpet. Take note,  the motif of the wedding is our favorite color Yellow….

We took a picture  outside and inside the chapel but of course we say our  prayers and wishes (we  make it a habit that during our first time sa church we  make a wish, don’t know  lang kung ilang church pa pupuntahan naming to make our wish come true kasi yun  naman lagi naming wish eh)….

After picture picture on the chapel, we go to  the other  side of the place the Walkway, the KOI Pond and the Hanging Bridge.

We follow the trail and the view is so nice it  really seems that you are really close to nature and closer to God….  I  can feel serenity in the place. Then we had seen the hanging bridge and I
run on  the other side causing the bridge to move, somebody complained but still
smiling…Hehehhe… Nangungulit lang po!!!  Sorry!!!

Before 12NN we need to leave the place coz we will be  going to our friend’s house. We will take our lunch there. Then we need to walk again a long way because we parked our car far from the
entrance/exit.

So to make things clear, here is a location map and some instruction on how to  get to Caleruega by car or via public  transport
